This is great on the approach obviously because it allows you to take a little extra gear which you may stash at the base or high camp. However then there's the other cool thing...

Once detach, use it as a 'summit pack' with its light detachable shoulder harness. Slim and easy to climb with it will let you carry just what you need for that New Zealand, European or South American summit push. 

The bag quickly attaches to the front of the pack via our innovative WebCatcher and HeadLocker features, giving a secure and stable fit when skiing or climbing.

It would work great just as a small climbing or multi pitch pack in its own right.
